• System Evaluation & Condition Report

A system evaluation and condition report is given to determine chimney integrity and whether or not your particular installation and chimney system meets current safety standards set by the NFPA.

• Closed-Circuit Video Inspection

Our technicians will use a camera to inspect areas normally hidden from view, deep inside the chimney. This is done during a paid-for inspection and would not be available during an estimate.

• Consultation

Our technicians will give advice about your installation and information about safer burning practices.

• Chimney Cleaning/Sweeping

This vital part of chimney care will remove dangerous, combustible creosote from the inside of the chimney. 5 Star Chimney Services technicians place a drop cloth at the base of the chimney and use a high-powered vacuum with a HEPA filter to catch dust and debris from entering the home while another technician is at the top of the chimney sweeping the inside from the top of the chimney down.

• Glazed Creosote Removal

Glazed creosote is the most hazardous type of creosote and starts out similar to tar in texture. Over time, this tar-like creosote will harden and become very shiny making it quite hard to scrape off from the walls of your flue. Our technicians are trained to mechanically remove the glazed creosote from your flue ensuring a safe chimney flue for future use.

• Gas Flue Lining/Relining

Lining or relining a chimney flue with a UL listed stainless steel lining system will prevent deadly carbon monoxide from penetrating through your unlined or deteriorating chimney. A chimney flue that currently has the original terra-cotta liner should always be relined with a UL listed stainless steel lining system to bring your chimney up to current code.

Chimney lining/relining systems give new life to unlined or damaged chimneys that would otherwise have to be completely rebuilt from the ground up.
